Happy birthday to us!

This month Tropical Twista turns 7 years old, and for our annual celebration VA, this year we brought you something different. In partnership with MCD Records and curation by our dear friend Kurup, we’re happy to host this beautiful project, Embatucadores Remixed.

Born in 2013, fruit of a pedagogic project developed since 2003 by Rafael Rip in the Professor Flaminio Favero state school, the group is a mix of many references, since the American Stomp (the theatrical performance and the use of musical instruments taken from trash) up to São Paulo’s Barbatuques (body percussion), passing through Uakti, Kokoko! and, of course, the wizard of invention, Hermeto Pascoal.

For this release, Renato has invited amazing national and international artists to remix the original tracks released by the group. The result is this beautiful compilation filled with global sounds.

You can download everything for free, as always, but consider making a donation if you can, as part of the profits will be redirected back to the project. The release is hosted by MCD in all streaming platforms, and can also be found in our Soundcloud, enjoy!
