Taboo by Karen Nyame KG
Following last year’s sizzling EP Sensei II, ‘Goddess of Rhythm’, KG, makes her highly-awaited return with the powerful statement single, ‘Taboo’. A glorious offering to soundtrack the hottest summer on record, the single lands on Bristol’s Black Acre Records in a classic dance package format, featuring an Acapella and Instrumental – perfect DJ tools to bring the heat.
Featuring KG’s own lush vocals and her signature percussion, the sensual offering blends elements of Amapiano, Afro-House and Afrobeat for the dancefloor, with unapologetic self-expression and reflections on desire. An artist known for her deep beliefs, having covered everything from the empowerment of women, to love, sexuality and desire, to high vibrations, partying and more on her smash EP Sensei II (2021), on ‘Taboo’, KG continues to use her voice, and her carefully-honed production skills to tell it how it is.
In KG’s own words, “’Taboo’ is a sensuous, Afro groove-inspired, mystical take on forbidden love, I veer towards it anyways despite opposition. This is me being me. A celebration of existing loudly.”
