Portales – meaning ‘portals’, is a song capturing that moment in love that feels like floating. “It’s a song inspired by love and the capacity it has to profoundly change us,” says Kaleema. The song starts stunningly with a peppering of dreamlike chimes, which coupled with the punching line ‘portales se abren cuando estás cerca de mi’ (portals open when you’re close to me) sets a passionate tone. The chorus escalates together with a winding melody that will live effortlessly in the listener’s head, lyrically inciting urgency and forward motion. Weaving the verses together are interludes laced with Andean flutes and pulsating electronics. It’s a song that embodies the wild experience of love at its fullest expression.
