Cera Perdida by Frente Cumbiero

“Cera Perdida” is Frente Cumbiero´s long awaited new album after their successful debut “Frente Cumbiero Meets Mad Professor”. After years of fostering novel sounds from Colombia with his side projects Ondatrópica and Los Pirañas, Mario Galeano´s flagship band is back.

With a quartet formation of drum machines and synthesizers, timbals, euphonium, saxophone and clarinet, Frente´s new sound explores the characteristic call-and-response forms of Colombian cumbia and porros with a futuristic approach. Known worldwide as a highly esteemed composer and musical producer, Mario Galeano has once more sparked a conversation around cumbia with a modern global audience and proven its creative boundaries are there to be stretched and made our own.

The album´s nine original tracks are high-spirited, danceable, both reminiscent of up-tempo jazz and Latin Caribbean roots, authentic, and fun. Frente Cumbiero´s new album is music for curious world-class listeners.
